The ODC aims to organise/support a range of events through 2017 to foster new discussions regarding linear earthworks in the early medieval landscape, their prehistoric predecessors and subsequent life-histories.
First up, the ODC organised its inaugural workshop hosted by University Centre Shrewsbury on Friday 28th April 2017.
Next, there will be a public free day conference hosted by the Grosvenor Museum on 13th December 2017: Early Medieval Frontiers: Past & Present
Finally there will be a session at the Theoretical Archaeology Group conference at Cardiff entitled ‘Dykes through Time’ exploring the biographies of early medieval linear earthworks. Visit the page here.
